The Biochar Atlas is an online, interactive tool from the USDA-Agricultural Research Service. The tool provides guidance to farmers, gardeners, and other end-users on the potential benefits of biochar. It includes decision support tools to select biochar types and amendment rates for specific crops based on soil characteristics identified by the user.
The tools include:

- Biochar Selection Tool
- Cost Benefit Analysis Tool
The Biochar Atlas also includes basic information on biochar production and history, a set of case studies of biochar use, and a directory of biochar producers in the Pacific Northwest. Although the information was developed for farmers in the Pacific Northwest, the decision support tools and application calculators can be applied to any US cropland.
